Do you find yourself less productive when you work from home? Is it hard for you to focus on your work with household chores and distractions surrounding you? Or do you have a hard time separating your work life from your home life since work is always just around the corner? Below are some of our best tips to create the most productive work from home lifestyle!

Create a WORK ONLY Environment

It can be extremely difficult to separate your relaxation time from your work time, especially if your home office isn’t separated from the rest of the house. And even if it is- you know that it is just right around the corner. You deserve your time to relax, you should not always be working just because it is right next to you! You can achieve this by creating your workspace strategically and leaving it to only be a work space. If you do not have a separate office space, invest in a desk and a chair, rather than just using your dining room table or creating a makeshift desk on the kitchen island. Decorate the desk with only work related things and maybe a photo or two. This will help your brain recognize the separation- desk is for work, the dining table is for enjoying a meal.

Allow yourself one midday errand

Sometimes, sitting in front of a computer screen or talking on the phone all day can be exhausting and mentally draining, leaving you with the thought of “how is it only 2:30?!” In order to separate work and relaxation, without getting too off track at home, is to go run one errand in the middle of the day. It does not have to be a productive errand, but allow yourself 30 minutes in the middle of the day to get some fresh air. Even taking a walk around the block will help you to be able to come back and be refocused for the rest of the workday.

Set a boundary with your chores

Especially if your home office is not separated in another room, you catch yourself staring at your home and noticing all of the things that need to be done. The laundry stacking up on the couch that needs to be folded, the dirty dishes in the sink, the overflowing trash can- these are all normal for a home, but are especially distracting when you should be focused on other things. Instead of allowing yourself to fall into the trap, try to get everything done the night before and stick to a routine.

Maximize your potential

Working from home seems to be a common trend nowadays all around the country, but especially in Arizona. These few tips can help you maximize the amount of work you are putting in to make sure you get the most of your workday, and don't get burnout while at home.
