Picking a private chef can seem like a big task, especially when you are trying to impress a large room of people. How can you find one that meets your price point and aesthetic?
Recently my clients asked me to choose a private chef for a surprise birthday party they were planning. They were hoping to have a chef at their home just a week after they connected with Delphinium Concierge.

On such short notice, I found it to be a tricky task, but felt some of the tips I picked up may be well served in the hands of some others who were hoping to do the same!
Picking Appropriate Cuisine
Are you throwing a dinner party for clients at your house, or are you gathering some friends for a casual get-together? Do your guests have food restrictions that would prevent them from eating specific cuisines? These are important questions to ask when picking out the appropriate chef for your event.
Choosing Tasteful Decor
Are you looking for a fancy company party, or a casual birthday party? Are you theming your plates and table toppers? Make sure you pick a chef that can meet your aesthetic desires and match the theme. Someone who only specializes in fancy dinners and several course meals may not be the right fit for a casual dinner party with friends from college.
Know What is Included
Some chefs include all the food and grocery shopping, wait staff, and spices. Some packages include the plates, silverware, and glassware. While you may not need everything, and may want to add in others, you should always make sure to ask what extras are included so you can make sure you aren't paying for the unnecessary materials, but are also covering the necessities.
Planning dinner parties can be a blast, but the last minute details can be daunting. Hopefully these tips help you in deciding which chef to pick for your next event, but if you're still feeling overwhelmed, Delphinium Concierge is here to pick up all the loose ends for you!
